New Computer Room Buildout

At Rand Whitney in Montville, CT, NHT was entrusted with upgrading and expanding the facility’s IT infrastructure to enhance network performance and reliability. This included reconfiguring existing IDFs, installing six new IDFs throughout the mill, and integrating new fiber optics and copper cabling to support operations. With precision and attention to detail, our team ensured a seamless and efficient installation.

Scope of Work:

Ordering, staging, installation of 3 IT cabinets, 3 IT racks, complete Ladder tray to dress cabling around computer room.
Roughing in and terminating 144 Cat 6 copper wiring within computer room divided between and from each IT cabinet to IT data rack.
Roughing in and terminating 16 Single mode OS2 12 strand fiber optic cable from 4 existing and 6 newly installed IDF’s located around Mill to new computer room.
Roughing in and terminating of 4 Multi mode OM3 12 strand fiber optic cable from existing IDF’s to new computer room.
Dressing of all copper cabling and fiber optic cabling to The Kraft group standards.

IDF Installs & Upgrades

NHT partnered with Rand Whitney to upgrade and expand the IT infrastructure in Montville, CT, ensuring improved network efficiency and reliability. This project involved upgrading existing IDFs, installing six new IDFs throughout the facility, and integrating new fiber optics and copper cabling to support operations. With careful planning and execution, NHT delivered a seamless and organized installation.

Scope of Work:

NHT was responsible for IDF upgrades and installing 6 new IDF’s around the paper Mill.
NHT did complete upgrades including reconfiguring, installing new patch panels.
NHT re-terminated all copper wiring in each of the 4 IDF’s to new jacks.
NHT terminated all new Fiber optics cabling to each of the 10 IDF’s.
NHT installed 6 new IDF’s at Paper Mill, consisting of installing cabinet. Within cabinet installing Fiber optic cable, all designated new copper cables, wire management.

Camera Installation

NHT was responsible for the comprehensive installation of cables and cameras throughout the entire Rand Whitney paper mill. This included mounting over 100 Axis cameras across both interior and exterior locations, ensuring full coverage of the facility. In addition to physical installation, NHT handled the complete configuration of the Axis camera system, seamlessly integrating each camera with the central server for a fully operational security network.
